What’s good everybody!
Hey y’all! My name is Naa Adei (Nah Aday), and I am officially a travel blogger. Woo hoo!
First of all, I want to say THANK YOU so so so much for coming to my page! Starting this blog is a huge personal accomplishment for me. The fact that you came to this page and even interacted with it at all, whether it’s by sharing, commenting, or just checking out my content, is the type reassurance that I needed to get started. *In my 2Pac voice* You are appreciated.
It honestly took me WAY TOO long to start out on this blogging journey! Although I've traveled extensively throughout my life, I never thought I was qualified enough to be a blogger. I mean, I travel for work, I travel for fun, and of course I love taking dope IG pics, but I never thought that I could be a full time blogger or influencer. It’s just not my speed. But, thanks to #selfcare, and some reassurance from awesome friends, I realized that I do have a wealth of experiences to draw from:
I’ve traveled to over 40 countries and 25 states over the past 27 years,
I’m a child of Ghanaian immigrants and I was made in the DMV, so you know I bring the heat!, and,
I genuinely love traveling and sharing my experiences with other people
That’s gotta be a recipe for success right?
So, after years of toying with the idea, I stopped doubting myself and finally decided to say f*ck it, lets do it. Shoutout to #TheRona for giving me enough spare time to do it. But, also please pray for those impacted and inflicted, and continue to practice Social Distancing!
For me, starting this travel blog is not just a flex, it is a reminder to myself that I too, can add value and exist in this space, no matter how over-saturated the market is. I have a unique perspective on traveling, so I would like to not only share that with you, but also inspire you to pursue your travels as well!
So, without further delay, I am pleased to debut to you, the pursuit of flyness.
The Pursuit of Flyness…the f*ck does that even mean?
Remember how I said I’ve been on this #travelblog journey for a minute now? Well, this blog name/branding is a classic case of doing shit before you know what you’re getting into.
Ard bet. So, a few weeks after I graduated from college, I was sitting on my brother’s couch without a care in the world. Or a job. It was glorious. Trying to figure out the easiest way to make money with the least amount of effort (because, that’s what all bums do, according to my mother), I decided to become a blogger!
I scrolled through social media and thought ‘I could do this! I can make bank!’ So, I did extensive research for a total of five minutes, because #arrogance you know, and I came up with the dopest. name. ever.

Because, I’m fly, traveling is fly, and when you’re in an airplane, you on a pursuit to fly…get it??? Genius.
So me being the capitalist that I am, I purchased the domain name THAT DAY before anyone else could steal it (duh), and locked myself into a long term premium WebDev plan to save money that I didn’t have at the time. Gotta love desperation, and the fact that all of the better domain names were taken.

Well, fast forward five years later and the page/domain was dormant. I hadn’t posted a damn thing. Partly because I was iffy about the name, but mainly because I was fully caught up in the rat race. Between my full-time engineering job, commuting, and actually traveling, I didn’t dedicate any time to blogging. I was living every immigrant parent’s dream (or reality, you pick).
Damn. The “man” got me.
So, alas, here I am in this 2020 with a steady paycheck, a happy mother who is no longer calling me a bum, and a brand/blog name that is not as cool as I thought it was lol. But, it’s Gucci. I’ll make it work.
